Opinion: Outdoors companies need to step up for the environment

Outdoors companies benefit from the environment as directly as anyone, but their efforts to protect the planet aren’t always enough.

In a speech at CU this year, the CEO of Patagonia said as much. Casey Sheahan’s message, according to Paul Larmer, was that outdoor sports companies need to stop believing in the divide between conservation and profit. “Companies can do right by the environment and society and still turn a profit,” Larmer writes.
