What began five years ago as a community service project has become a nonprofit organization that is saving lives. The Second Wind Fund, as it’s called, gives depressed teens another chance at happiness and life by providing much needed services to families who might otherwise get lost in the system.

Falling through the cracks
When Congress passed an economic-stimulus package giving hefty rebates to most taxpayers, it tried to make sure that illegal immigrants didn’t get any of the cash.
