Sen. Manchin, NRA member, calls for assault rifle ban discussion

Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W. Va., is a member of the National Rifle Association and is one of the most conservative Democrats in the Senate.

But even Manchin is ready and willing to have a discussion about new gun control legislation in the wake of the shooting in Newtown, Conn., that left over 20 people dead. He says there's no place for assault weapons in any hunting activity.

"I don't know anyone in the sporting or hunting arena that goes out with an assault rifle," Manchin said on MSNBC's Morning Joe.

am I a pro-gun--yes--do I support back ground cks..training for those NON-military people..YES..as for band on assult..ok...since the big deal is LOOKS..but give me a break..If I want a FULLY auto..for $$ I can get it..just like the gangs and crooks..so keep that in mind when people yapping about banning guns/weapons. and if people/citizend allow to carry with proper Lic./traning or armed guards on locations would make even some of the IDIOTS think twice.
