High country storms dump snow on Colorado ski areas

Finally. Colorado ski areas received a much-needed powder boost this weekend, as snow fell over several days at just about every resort.

Colorado Ski Country USA, which operates ColoradoSki.com, reported new snow at six feet or greater, with Silverton Mountain topping the list at a whopping 78 inches. Also above four feet was Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort, which got 37 inches; Wolf Creek received an even four feet.

Closer to home, Winter Park, Loveland and Copper all got six inches or more. A-Basin got five, Ski Cooper four, and Eldora one new inch of snow.
