Cottonwood Institute, a Denver-based nonprofit that works to connect students with the outdoors and empower them to tackle environmental issues, has partnered with Wynkoop Brewing Company. The two are hosting a beer release party for a limited-edition beer called Cottonwood Organic White, which will benefit the Cottonwood Institute.

Between March 28 and April 30, Wynkoop Brewing Company will donate $1 per pint of Cottonwood Organic White to support the nonprofit’s student outreach programs.

The beer release party starts at 5 p.m. on March 28 at Wynkoop in Denver.

SNARF’S ANNOUNCES PLANS FOR EXPANSION

Snarf’s Sandwich Shop, best known for its hearty subs, has announced plans for significant local and national expansion. The family-owned sandwich company opened its first store in Boulder back in 1996. Since then, it has expanded to own 14 shops along the Front Range and in St. Louis and Chicago.

The newly planned expansion will continue in these markets as well as into Texas, according to a recent statement released by the company. Snarf’s hopes to have a total of 50 stores up and running by 2018. It has also announced that it will open a hamburger restaurant in Boulder.

CALIFORNIA PIZZA KITCHEN INTRODUCES NEW BEVERAGES

California Pizza Kitchen has announced the launch of a new beverage series, which will include wine flights, craft beer and a Diet Pepsi Mixology program.

For $12, patrons can now sample three different three-ounce pours from the restaurant’s wine list. California Pizza Kitchen has also expanded its craft beer selection to include Crispin Cider, Newcastle, Arrogant Bastard Ale and Rogue Brutal IPA. All craft beers will be served in 22-ounce bottles, and all draft beers will be served as 18-ounce pours.

Finally, the restaurant chain has developed a Diet Pepsi Mixology program, in which guests can choose from three low-calorie combinations: Berry Lean, Blueberry Lime and the Dark Red. All three drinks are nonalcoholic and incorporate fresh fruit and Diet Pepsi as ingredients. The new beverage program is available at all California Pizza Kitchen locations, including the one in Boulder at Twenty Ninth Street.
