Youngstown, Ohio voters have rejected a proposed ban on fracking in city limits, but activists there say they won't stop trying to get the ban passed.
Voters decided 57 to 43 percent not to ban hydraulic fracturing. The process had gotten headlines in recent years as a related drilling technique, deep drilling to dispose of fracking water, had allegedly caused local earthquakes and contamination of groundwater.
Frackfree Mahoning Valley, a citizens' group opposed to fracking, had gotten the ban on the ballot by collecting signatures. A member said the group isn't giving up after losing the vote.
