Whole Foods Memorial Day grilling

TAKE A TAP TOUR

Local Table Tours will introduce its new beer tasting tour Sunday, May 26. The tours company, which features dining, coffee tasting and cheese tasting tours in Boulder and Denver, is branching out into beer tasting tours this summer. The walking tour will visit locally and independently owned establishments at three or four stops on Pearl Street. The tour is from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on May 26 and costs $35. The tour begins at The Peppercorn, 1235 Pearl St. Future tours will take place on the second and fourth Sunday of each month.

DAY FOR OUR NAMESAKE

The 26th Annual Boulder Creek Festival takes place from Saturday, May 25 to Monday, May 27. At the festival, there will be around 50 food vendors, and over 30 percent of the vendors are from Boulder County. The main food court will be located in the Boulder Public Library parking lot, and a second food court will be at the corner of 13th Street and Canyon Boulevard. Each food court also features a beer garden that serves Boulder Beer, Barefoot Wine and margaritas. Additionally, Creek Festival sponsor MorningStar Farms will be at the festival on a stop of its Feel Good Grilling Tour. The Boulder Creek Festival is held along Boulder Creek, from Ninth Street to 14th Street between Canyon Boulevard and Arapahoe Avenue. The festival is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday.

IT’S GRILLING SEASON

Whole Foods will host a Memorial Day grilling event Friday, May 24. To celebrate the holiday weekend, the store will serve free food from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The event will take place at the Pearl Street Whole Foods, located at 2905 Pearl St. For more information, go to wholefoodsmarket.com or call 303-545-6611.

 

 

TEQUILA TRAINING

Colterra will host its first cocktail class with an emphasis on tequila on Sunday, May 26. Head bartender Stephen Ogburn will discuss tequila’s history, the different varieties of tequila and Colterra’s specialty cocktail recipes. MUCH MUSIC ON MEMORIAL DAY

The Gold Hill Inn will host a Memorial Day Mountain Music Fest and Barbecue on Monday, May 27. The music festival will feature The Yawpers, Shel, Strangebyrds and Nate & Tyler. The barbeque menu features smoked salmon and apple cider brisket with “all the fixins.” The event takes place from noon to 5 p.m. on May 27. The music fest costs $15, and the barbeque costs $14. BARBECUE IN VAIL VALLEY

More than 15 barbecue chefs and more than 20 microbreweries will come together to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Blues, Brews & BBQ from Friday, May 24 to Sunday, May 26. Taste local beer and barbecue while listening to Dan Treanor’s Afrosippi Band featuring Erica Brown on Saturday and Too Slim and the Taildraggers and John Nemeth on Sunday. The festival will include culinary demonstrations, barbecue competitions, beer seminars and microbrew festivals. The event takes place at Beaver Creek Village in Vail Valley. A TASTE OF LODO

Denver Gourmet Tours offers a tasting tour of the microbreweries and restaurants in the neighborhood Denver Gourmet Tours around Coors Field so customers can experience the Denver food scene. The walking tour stops at four to six destinations. The tour takes place from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 25. The event starts at Coors Field, 2001 Blake St. in Denver.
