Thompson School District R2-J
Director District B

Janice Marchman
Bryce Carlson

District
B represents Centennial, Coyote Ridge, Edmondson and Lincoln
elementary schools; Lucile Erwin Middle School; and Ferguson High
School. Incumbent Janice Marchman, a former engineer and current piano
teacher and academic tutor, has lived in the district since 2004 and
has two children in district schools, both at Coyote Ridge elementary.
She ran unchallenged for the seat in 2011 and said her goal then was to
bring a parent voice to the board and improve communication between
parents and the district.

Her challenger, Bryce Carlson, is a pastor at Foundations Church and told the Loveland Reporter-Herald he was inspired to run out of concerns for the education ahead of his two children, now 1 and 3 years old.

While
his intentions are likely in the right place, Marchman’s goal-oriented
focus and existing accomplishments earn her our endorsement.
