Election Guide 2013: Yes on Lefthand Fire Protection Issue 5A

By Boulder Weekly Staff

Lefthand Fire Protection District Ballot Issue 5A
General tax increase

Vote Yes

If you don’t vote yes on this, you’re a global warming denier.

OK, so it’s not that simple. But broadly speaking, climate scientists agree that man-made climate change is affecting weather and leading to more extreme weather patterns. And given Colorado’s recent issues with wildfires, it’s obvious it could happen here.

Lefthand Fire Protection District is a primarily rural, hilly and mountainous district that serves about 2,000 residents, its website says. But the impact of more funding for the district would be valuable for a lot more than just 2,000 people.
