Pentagon set to announce downsizing plans

Expect fewer jets, soldiers and benefits

The BBC is reporting that U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel will announce cuts to the military budget for 2015.

Cuts include the elimination of a class of attack jets, cutting the number of personal by upwards of 100,000 and more.

“The US military is under pressure to downsize after two costly foreign wars,” the BBC wrote.

Hagel is also reportedly going to seek savings through cuts in active-duty benefits like housing allowances, healthcare and pay raises.
