A winner of numerous awards and selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry, Nashville is generally considered to be one of Altman’s best. The film takes a snapshot of people involved in the country music and gospel music businesses in Nashville, Tennessee. It has 24 main characters, an hour of musical numbers, and multiple storylines. The characters’ efforts to succeed or hold on to their success are interwoven with the efforts of a political operative and a local businessman to stage a concert rally before the state’s presidential primary for a populist outsider running for President. Frozen

The Grand Budepest Hotel

A respected concierge at a famous hotel after WWI and pre-WWII, takes a liking to a young chap. Together they have a great aventure that includes action, art and thievery. Rated R. At Esquire and Century.

Gravity

Like George Clooney’s character in this Oscar-winning film about Sandra Bullock being stranded in space, this film just keeps coming back. Rated PG-13. At Twin Peaks and Colony Square.

Her

Only Spike Jonze could come up with a comedy flick wherein a shy writer (Joaquin Phoenix) falls in love with his computer’s sexy-voiced operating system. Rated R. At Century.

The LEGO Movie 3D

Emmet is a normal, nerdy LEGO dude. So when he is mistakenly identified as the only LEGO who can topple an evil tyrant, things get pretty funny. Rated PG. At Twin Peaks, Colony Square and Century.

Omar

This is a tense, gripping thriller about betrayal, suspected and real, in the Occupied Territories. By night, he’s either a freedom fighter or a terrorist — you decide — ready to risk his life to strike at the Israeli military with his childhood friends Tarek (Eyad Hourani) and Amjad (Samer Bisharat). Arrested after the killing of an Israeli soldier and tricked into an admission of guilt by association, he agrees to work as an informant. Stranger by the Lake

This film is an erotic thriller that tests the lengths and limits of sexual desire. Frank (Pierre Deladonchamps) spends his summer days hopelessly searching for companionship at a popular cruising spot on the shores of a lake in rural France. His only friend there is Henri (Patrick D’Assumçao), an older married man who insists he comes to the lake for the views, not the men. One day, Frank meets Michel (Christophe Paou), an attractive yet darkly mysterious man and falls blindly in love. They quickly become lovers, yet something remains off about Michel. When a death occurs at the lake, Frank and Michel become the primary suspects, but despite constant inquiries from the area’s detective, they choose to ignore the danger and instead continue to engage in their passionate and potentially lethal relationship.
