LINDSAY’S BOULDER DELI SET TO RE-OPEN 

Lindsay’s, the iconic deli and Haagen-Dazs shop on the southwest corner of Pearl and Broadway, spent its recent months tearing down its walls to expand, redecorate, add a kitchen, and offer “Grab-n-Go” deli items.

Owner Lindsay Shaw is wideeyed about the new launch set for June 27. More soups and sandwiches — some of which are employee-inspired — will join the classics like the “That’s What She Said,” and customized ice cream cakes made by Shaw will be available.

The new décor will have a funky “modern-vintage theme,” according to Shaw, with purple walls, a mural of the Shaw’s family history, “wood-tile” looking floors, beetle-kill pine and subway tile walls, a curved soffit, red chandeliers and turquoise deer head door hangers.

Hours will be 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. for summer, and 8 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. for winter.

FOOD FRESH IS NOW OPEN 

On The Hill and craving a late-night or mid-day Middle- Eastern snack? Food Fresh is now available to help you out.

With a touch of art deco, the recently opened restaurant brings you traditional dishes from Lebanon to Greece, like Shawarma (meat grilled on a spit), baba ghanoush, pita sandwiches, and also tosses in pizzas cooked in a large open-flame oven. Their “Cheese & Zatar” pizza is a cheese pizza with a Middle-Eastern spice mixture. Fresh juices and smoothies like the “Avocado-Honey” are served, along with salads, soups and even fried chicken.

Manager Ashraf Mohammad says fresh baked bread, hallal (kosher) meats and unique spices are what set the restaurant apart. Located at 1116 13th St., Food Fresh is open from 9 a.m. to 3 a.m. with a potential 24/7 schedule coming up in the fall.

PROJECT PIE TO OPEN SOON 

General Manager Luis Silva wants Project Pie to be your new neighborhood hang-out.

Set to open on The Hill in the first or second week of July, it is a fast, casual, custom pizza place (with signature pizza options) in an upscale setting of subway tile walls, dangling light bulbs and black décor accents. The 11-inch, golden thin crust pizzas served (which can be made gluten-free) are all priced at $7.85; including as many cheese, veggie and meat toppings as you’d like at no extra charge.

“It’s all about vibe,” Silva said. “Music will be popping. … We want people to really interact and come in and say ‘Hey how’s it going? Good to see you again. Are you going to have the same barbeque pizza you had last time?’” 

Located at 1155 13th St., tentative hours will be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and a close time of 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

A TRUE LATIN-AMERICAN BREAKFAST SERVED AT YEYE CAFÉ 

Argentinean owner, Daniel Garcia, or “Yeye” as his grandchildren call him, is still working hard after retirement age and had a life-long dream of opening up a coffee shop.

Enter Yeye Café, located at the northwest corner of College Ave. and 13th Street, which is set to open July 1. 

With an in-house bakery, you can get your pick-me-up and protein fix with a café con leche and Venezuelan cachito — a croissantlooking pastry made of different dough, stuffed with cheese, onion, tomato, basil or ham.

“Media Luna,” or Argentinean half-moon croissants, are also served along with healthy South American teas and some singlesourced coffee beans from all-female owned South American plantations.

The décor has a bright, modern feel to it with contrasting colors of white, deep orange and grey, stainless steel walls, a Marilyn Monroe portrait on the wall, and black and white plastic stools that are shaped like coffee cups.

Hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for summer, and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for the fall.
