Saturday, Aug. 16: Dairy Comedy. 8 p.m. Dairy Center for the Arts, 2590 Walnut St., Boulder, 303-440-7826.
Comedy so often falls into the woefully over-walked territory of bro-tastic, one-dimensional dick jokes, so the Dairy Comedy’s all LGBT season-opening show should be a breath of fresh air. Or, at least, air of a different scent. The evening’s lineup includes out transexual and trans youth advocate Jordan Wieleba, who probably has something more inventive to say about lesbians than that they’re angry. Comedian Chuck Roy, who goes by “The Bear,” is headlining with his “wicked gay jokes” that he professes aren’t safe to laugh at in front of your HR manager.
