Ham McBeth — presented by Square Product Theatre.

Through March 21. The Dairy Center for the Arts, 2590 Walnut St., Boulder, 303-440-7826.

With a little imagination, Shakespeare’s work can be a theatrical playground. When theater companies take a different approach, it revitalizes the Bard and gives it a fresh approach for modern audiences. Set in a trailer park, Ham McBeth explores the mother-daughter relationship through Ham Jones and her teenage daughter Aquanetta, who’s studying Shakespeare’s classic tragedy MacBeth for the SATs. The women have their own dreams — Ham to overthrow the trailer park president and Aquanetta to escape the trailer park precedent. Utilizing Shakespeare, the play tackles power struggles and the human condition, with comedy to boot.
