gets off
some
more than
others

like
clouds
over town
finally
working

on rain
and a
night

too easily
wet

so
how best
to handle
the day’s
cagey
rhythms

given all
of the
songs
i know
by heart

wet grasses

with actual 
thanks

to the game 
of baseball

and a nod 
in time

to most 
of california

nothing cooler

than maine’s 
wet grasses

rooting 
the vagaries

propelling 
my days
