USTA Serves, the charitable entity of the United States Tennis Association (USTA), has awarded the Boulder branch of the I Have a Dream Foundation one of its 24 year-end grants under its “Aces for Kids” umbrella.

The Boulder branch seeks to help low-income youth achieve a brighter future through tutoring, mentoring, after-school enrichment and college preparation. The local nonprofit was awarded $15,000.

USTA Serves awards grants — a total of $297,325 this year — to programs that successfully combine tennis and education and help children pursue their dreams by succeeding in school.

The I Have a Dream Foundation promotes physical activity as a component of success, and the USTA Serves grant will help the organization continue long-term academic programs that have reached 240 disadvantaged children to date.
