Flint Blade & Honeydew

9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 6, The Laughing Goat Coffeehouse, 1709 Pearl St., Boulder, 303-440- 4628.

A clarinet and a Chapman Stick, a guitar/bass hybrid, might seem like an unlikely partnership. But when meshed together by Flint Blade and Alison “Honeydew” Murphy, the music produced is head-bopping good time. The sound is a bit psychedelic, kind of peaceful, yet ominous and a little edgy. The instruments complement each other well, allowing each to showcase the others’ strengths. Flint and Murphy have been playing music for years, and in 2013 they released their first self-produced, full-length album Love Light, and last year they released their EP Together. Along with their latest album …For a Moment in Time, released Aug. 24, Flint Blade and Honeydew will rock out the Laughing Goat on Sept. 6.
