County awards $50,000 to 8 waste reduction programs

The Boulder County Board of Commissioners has awarded nearly $50,000 to eight waste reduction programs as part of the county Resource Conservation Division’s Community Outreach Program.

Resource Conservation has given $803,583 toward educational or infrastructure programs within Boulder and Broomfield counties over the last 13 years.

The programs that received funding for 2010 include the Boulder Shelter for the Homeless Recycling Stations, the City of Lafayette Festival Plaza Recycle Bins, the City of Longmont Monthly Paper Shred Events and the City of Louisville Recycle and Compost Project.

The other funding recipients are the Eco-Cycle Single-Stream/Dirty Dozen Video Campaign, Green Girl Recycling Container Label Updating, Naropa University Zero Waste Infrastructure Upgrades and 3R Roofing – Asphalt Shingle Recycling: Roofer Education and Outreach Project.
