Boulder police are investigating a second-degree assault that occurred during a concert at the Fox Theatre in the early morning hours of Feb 19, just after midnight.

A 21-year-old woman sustained facial injuries after she said an unknown female suspect hit her in the nose with a beer bottle.

The case remains open.

Sex assault suspect

Boulder investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a suspect in a recent sexual assault case.

The suspect, 36-year-old Ricardo Solis Garcia, is accused of sexually assaulting a young woman on Feb. 5 in Boulder. A warrant for his arrest has been issued. Garcia faces two counts of felony sexual assault.

Detectives have been unable to locate him at his home; at Naropa University, where he was attending classes; or at his former workplace. He has also been known to use the names Ricardo Solis, Lalo Solis and has gone by the nickname “Rigo.”

Anyone with any information about the suspect or his whereabouts is asked to call Det. Colleen Wilcox at 303-441-3300.

Alleged ATM thief caught

Thanks to community members, deputies have arrested a suspect in an attempted ATM theft on Nov. 25, 2009.

The suspect, 38-year-old Shannon Keith, was taken into custody on Feb. 18 by sheriff’s deputies after he appeared in court for an unrelated matter. Keith is accused of stealing a white U-Haul van and then attempting to steal an ATM machine from the Chase Bank at 6300 Gunpark Drive.

Surveillance video from the bank shows a suspect wrapping chains from the van around the ATM and trying to yank the machine out of the ground. He was unsuccessful, but the attempt caused $28,000 worth of damage.

Keith has been booked into the Boulder County Jail. Bail was set at $40,000.
