Boulder-based NPR and public radio music show, eTown, just got a big boost from one of its biggest fans. The Boedecker Foundation dropped some cash yesterday towards eTown host Nick Forster’s plans to build eTown Hall, an arts and performance space and community center to be located at the historic church building on 16th and Spruce in downtown Boulder.

“This grant is a testament to The Boedecker Foundation’s commitment to the Boulder community,” Forster says in a statement. “This is a wonderful gift that will help us maintain the momentum of our eTown Hall Capital Campaign. We’re making progress, and while we still have along way to go to reach our goal, this gift comes at a critical time.”

Although the amount of the grant wasn’t announced, eTown plans to move to the new location in June. The construction of recording studios, a performance hall and a community will continue throughout the year with hope of completion in early 2011.

“We’re very excited about this grant,” George Boedecker, founder and chairman of the Boedecker Foundation and a big music fan, said in a statement. “I’ve been an eTown fan and listener for many years, and we are extremely pleased to support the renovation of eTown Hall. It’s going to be an amazing facility and a real asset to the community in many ways.”
