Boulder Weekly music writer Adam Perry has already written about one Jeff Buckley tribute band playing in Boulder next week, and we thought we’d let you know about another Jeff Buckley tribute band, calling themselves Your Sweet Return, that will be playing Buckley’s entire Grace album at the b.side Lounge on Nov. 18.
The band consists of guitarist and singer Jeffery Hyde Thompson, lead guitarist Kit Slater, drummer Ryan Maskewitz, bassist Aaron Stone, and keyboardist/backup vocalist Paul Fowler. The band met, according to Thompson, through a Craigslist posting that said, “Jeff Buckley tribute band. Please do not reply unless you already have proficiency with all of your instrument’s parts on the album Grace.”
Opening acts include Gregory Alan Isakov, Dechen Hawk, Ramaya, Kendra Current and Katy McNeill, all of whom will be playing other Buckley songs not from Grace.
