The victim will need surgery to repair the damage around his eye, according to police.

Targeting Target

Three men were arrested Jan. 7 after what police believe was a spree of Target store thefts in the Boulder area.

Police said they apprehended the men after they exited a Superior Target branch while pushing a shopping cart filled with stolen electronic merchandise.

Police say they believe the suspects have been stealing from various Target locations since Dec. 22.

The matter is still under investigation by the Boulder County Sheriff ’s Office.

He said he believes the theft took place sometime between Dec. 29 and Dec. 30, with the use of a pipe cutter, according to a Boulder police report.

The theft was reported to police on Jan. 4.

Steal car, go to bar

Boulder police arrested a 25-year-old male on Jan. 6 after responding to a report of a stolen vehicle at 11th and Walnut Streets.

The victim said he returned to his car after leaving it unlocked and running for a few minutes to find the suspect driving away in the vehicle, the report said.

He eventually located the suspect, who attempted to knock the phone from the victim’s hand as he called the police, according to the report.

The suspect ran into a bar and was later found by police.

Kitty kicker

A woman reported on Jan. 8 that her boyfriend’s roommate had kicked her cat, causing it to bleed from the rectum.

Boulder police officers were dispatched to the Emergency Pet Clinic at 1658 30th St. The cat did not suffer any broken bones or internal bleeding, but the 19-year-old suspect admitted to injuring it because he was stressed and exhausted from traveling.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of harassment and cruelty to animals.

Broken glass, faces

A man threw an object at a glass door of a residence in the 900 block of Broadway on Jan. 8, witnesses told Boulder police.

The object shattered the door, and when one witness attempted to confront the male, the suspect allegedly punched her twice in the face before assaulting three other people, according to the police report.

Each of the victims suffered head or facial injuries, and two were brought to Boulder Community Hospital.

The suspect left the scene before officers arrived, according to the report.
