Rio celebrates anniversary with $2.50 margaritas

By Mindy Rappoport

The Rio is offering customers $2.50 margaritas starting at 6 p.m. on June 15 in honor of its 25th anniversary.

The Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant opened its first restaurant in Fort Collins on June 15, 1986.

"The restaurant staff is proud that The Rio is a local favorite in Boulder, Fort Collins and Greeley, says Rob Trenz, general manager at The Rio in Boulder.

“All we want to do is provide a great spot for people to feel welcome,” Trenz says. “It’s comfort food, people know their servers — it’s also comfort service —and a comforting margarita or two.”

The Rio is located at 1101 Walnut St. in Boulder.
