This Labor Day weekend, Colorado residents
can take advantage of the waning beautiful summer weather with a variety of
outdoor activities, including A Taste of Colorado in Denver.

Located in Civic Center Park, the festival
will include gourmet food, carnival rides, music and family-friendly
entertainment. The festival is free to enter and will run Sept. 2–5.

The culinary events include a demonstration from Snooze
chefs on Friday, a “Best Wings Contest” on Sunday and a wine tasting on Monday.
Each evening there will be a high-energy chef competition, and Häagen-Dazs will
sponsor an ice cream-eating contest every afternoon. Boulder’s Hosea Rosenberg
will hold a special cooking presentation Friday afternoon.

Visitors to the festival can also browse one of the four
music stages to hear and watch an eclectic line-up, including rock, country,
jazz, blues and dance groups. Boulder-area bands that are performing include
blues band Boa & the Constrictors, Skean Dubh, Giddyup Kitty, Gora Gora
Orkestrar, Planina and rock group The Champions.

The festival will include more than 280 booths featuring
arts and crafts, gifts, furniture, jewelry and imports. The section “Fine Art
in the Park” will display art pieces created from artists around the country.

For those who want to head the opposite direction and avoid
the bustling city scene, visit Estes Park’s Labor Day Arts & Crafts show.
It will take place in Bond Park Sept. 3-5 and will feature more than 100
artisans showing off their distinctive handcrafted items. The event is a
fundraiser for youth scholarships and other local and international projects.
