Xcellent video

Wow, Xcel is really pulling out all the stops on this municipalization thing. They’ve even filmed some really compelling TV commercials with amazingly talented actors.

Not.

Check them out and see for yourself. You can watch them on YouTube at bit.ly/muny1 and bit.ly/muny2.

These guys really don’t want to lose Boulder’s electricity business, do they? Stooping to new lows by predicting constant power outages if Boulder municipalizes its electric utility is not just dirty pool, it’s pond-scum.

Our favorite laugh-out-loud part is when the lights come back on in mid-make-out session and the wife storms off. So, if we vote for municipalization, we’re not going to get laid?

These videos are almost reason enough to vote yes on 2B and 2C.

Savage reply

Did you catch sex columnist Dan Savage’s response to Herman Cain last week?

Cain was being interviewed by Piers Morgan and was spouting off the usual right-wing line about homosexuality being a choice, not something you are born with, and Savage issued a challenge:

“Dear Herman, If being gay is a choice, show us the proof. Choose it. Choose to be gay yourself. Show America how that’s done, Herman, show us how a man can choose to be gay. Suck my dick, Herman. Name the time and the place, and I’ll bring my dick and a camera crew and you can suck me off and win the argument.

Very sincerely yours, Dan Savage” Hope you weren’t drinking chocolate milk while reading that, because it’s probably all over this newspaper now and the people in the restaurant are staring at you.

Limbaugh proves his idiocy

Better to keep your mouth shut and let people think you’re an idiot than to open your mouth and prove it. Too bad Rush Limbaugh followed the latter course of action.

Limbaugh recently proved both his stupidity and his bias when he accused President Obama of sending U.S. troops to Sudan to slaughter Christians. But let’s not paraphrase. Let’s give Limbaugh the rope and let him hang himself. Here are his own words:

“Lord’s Resistance Army are Christians. They are fighting the Muslims in Sudan. And Obama has sent troops, United States troops, to remove them from the battlefield, which means kill them … So that’s a new war, a hundred troops to wipe out Christians in Sudan, Uganda and — (interruption) no, I’m not kidding.”

For some time it’s been apparent that infotainers like Limbaugh, Ann Coulter and Bill O’Reilly are so focused on denigrating Obama and trying to hurt Democrats that they can’t give praise even when praise is deserved. If George Bush declares a war, it’s patriotic and blessed by God, and opposition to it is tantamount to treason. But if Obama sends 100 special forces troops into action, it’s automatically evil.

In this case, Limbaugh was so far off base that his words weren’t even funny. The LRA is the scourge of whatever part of Africa it terrorizes. A list of the LRA’s crimes against humanity include kidnapping young children to be soldiers or sex slaves and maiming, raping and murdering at will.

Limbaugh’s ignorance is staggering, and his transparent attempt to incite anger at Obama and Democrats by making it seem as if the U.S. is attacking Christians (always innocent) who are fighting Muslims (always evil) ought to inspire only contempt.
