A gift idea that helps support our local organic food suppliers

By Boulder Weekly Staff

Boulder´s Best Organics is an offering from Best Organics, Inc., a primarily woman-owned business that has its roots firmly planted in our city below the Flatirons. The Boulder company offers a wide variety of gift boxes and baskets that will make any recipient both happier and healthier even as the gift helps support our local economy and organic producers. It’s the kind of gift that would make Walter Goldschmidt proud (see “A tale of two cities,” page 11). The company also offers kosher and gluten-free selections. Baskets not found for sale at Alfalfa’s Market in Boulder can be viewed and purchased online at americasbestorganics.com. The following descriptions were edited from the website.

A gift that’s all Boulder

Unique among gift basket offerings, “Boulder’s Best Organics” hand-packed gift collections are filled with gourmet and artisan products from local businesses. The gift collections are presented in illustrated, keepsake gift boxes featuring the Flatirons of Boulder and other local scenes painted by Colorado artist Jim Freeheart. Also included in each gift set is a full-color storybook sharing the stories of many of the local producers featured in the gift boxes. These gift boxes of local and Colorado goods are available at Alfalfa’s Market. Prices vary by basket.

Kosher-friendly for Hanukkah

Whether you spell it Hanukkah or Chanukah, the kosher-friendly “Hanukkah Rocks!” gift basket collection is perfect for any time of year, and features all organic and certified kosher treats, including Teatulia Peppermint Tea and a hand-crafted ceramic teacup made in the USA. Snacks include kosher-certified Clif Bar energy bar and kosher Justin’s Peanut Butter Cups with dark chocolate. $47

Gluten-free, yes you can

For that special someone who is gluten-free, the “Fabulous and Gluten-free” basket has got you covered with a great gathering of treats that sacrifice gluten, not taste. Boulder Granola Gluten-Free/Dairy Free original granola is amazing, as are delicious Grizzlies Organic Curry Cashew Trail Mix and Fearless Chocolates Exploding Coconuts and other Gluten-free treats. $42.75 Respond: letters@boulderweekly.com
