'Sons of Anarchy' Scribe tapped to Co-Run Starz's 'Marco Polo'

Marco Polo

The Starz series, from The Weinstein Co. and Ben Silverman’s Electus, has successfully lured long-time Sons of Anarchy scribe Dave Erickson to executive produce and co-show run with writer/creator John Fusco.

“John Fusco has created an epic character and adventure drama unlike anything I’ve read or seen on television,” said Erickson, whose other credits include creating Canterbury’s Law at Fox.

The project is being dubbed a martial arts epic centered on the thirteenth century explorer. Marco Polo will chronicle the famed adventurer’s early years in the court of Kublai Khan. Acting as the ruler's spy, ambassador and explorer, Marco will trek across the Far East and returns with tales of his journeys.
