Vail Buys Kirkwood for $18 Million
Kirkwood has always been Lake Tahoe’s semi-hidden gem, with epic expert terrain, awesome backcountry, the best snow in the region, and a rustic downhome sensibility that’s all too rare in today’s corporate ski world. Well, the terrain, backcountry, and snow won’t change, but there’s every possibility the vibe will, because Kirkwood has just been purchased for $18 million by the most corporate of ski corporations, Vail Resorts.
