Account Manager

Boulder’s award winning and leading media organization, Boulder Weekly, is seeking an entrepreneurial-minded account manager to assist in growing our sales department.

This person will be responsible for developing and growing new business revenue with potential and existing advertisers. They will identify, structure and negotiate deals and manage relationships directly with clients. They will also work with our talented sales executives and management team, to elevate the efforts of the whole team. They will be asked to collaborate with clients to maximize their association with Boulder Weekly and all of our products. We are looking for people who are engaging, personable, analytical, proactive, energetic and creative. The ideal candidate will have some advertising sales experience in print media, but we are open to bringing in someone with less directly relevant experience.

Being Boulder’s only locally owned and independent newspaper, we are serious about our commitment to the community and have grown our readership and advertising base even in the face of a declining industry and poor economic climate. 2010 was our most successful year yet and there has never been a better time to represent Boulder’s fastest growing newspaper!

This position includes a base salary plus commission and bonus opportunities. Customer Service, sales experience and ability to grow relationships is a must.

Boulder Weekly Seeks Street Team Marketing Interns

Boulder Weekly is looking for CU students to join the Boulder Weekly Street Team (BWST) as Marketing Interns, promoting Boulder Weekly in various capacities. Basic responsibilities will include attending Boulder Weekly-sponsored concerts and events at the Fox Theatre and the Boulder Theater in a Boulder Weekly-branded shirt, taking photographs or video, and/or blogging about the show. The Street Team will also be responsible for being Boulder Weekly’s “eyes” around town, contributing photographs, stories, and information about local events or sightings. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a team setting and enhance your resume with media and marketing experience.

Graphic Design Intern

Boulder Weekly is seeking an unpaid graphic design intern to help build ads and take photographs for the production department. This is an ideal position for a designer interested in obtaining a working knowledge of the newspaper industry as well as building a professional portfolio of printed pieces.

We are Macintosh-based, using Adobe InDesign CS4, Illustrator and Photoshop to build and maintain ads.
