In his first public appearance since quitting his battle against the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency, Lance Armstrong rode in the Power of Four mountain bike race in Aspen, Colo., on Aug. 25, placing second.

Armstrong, who faces a lifetime ban and the possibility of losing his seven Tour de France titles over accusations of taking performance-enhancing substances, ran the high-climbing route in the Aspen-Snowmass ski area over the weekend. He finished in second to a 16-year-old rider, Keegan Swirbul.
