GOP increasing minority voter suppression in Southern states

The racial demographics of the South are shifting quickly, and Republicans just aren’t keeping up.

As more and more states and cities become more diverse, many to the point that whites aren’t a majority any more, the Republican party is still very white — 88 percent of GOP-registered voters are white across the South.

And rather than appealing to the minority vote, Republicans are moving to limit their right to vote in several states.
