Global bacon shortage imminent, British group says

If you have a secret soft spot in your heart for bacon cheeseburgers, it might be time to modify. Might we suggest avocado, or brie, or poblano peppers? Or anything not made from a pig?

Because pigs are in short supply, says the National Pig Association of Great Britain. Pig populations are falling around the world due to increased feed prices, the group says.

Pork prices could double in the next two or three years in Europe, the group says. The USDA is predicting a smaller drop in the U.S.
