For Fate Brewing Company owner Mark Lawinski, new Head Brewer Jeff Griffith may be the key to becoming “a common household name in Boulder and beyond.”

The new Boulder brewery, set to open sometime this fall, will be a full-service restaurant and brewery with five core beers and several special releases designed and created by Griffith.

Griffith comes to Fate Brewing Company from Golden City Brewery, where he was head brewer for seven years. With his general certificate of brewing from London’s Institute of Brewing and Distilling, Griffith specializes in recipe development and has produced award-winning craft brews.

BOULDER BEER COMPANY CELEBRATES 33 YEARS

With 33 years of brewing under its belt, the Boulder Beer Company is gearing up to celebrate its status as Colorado’s first microbrewery. On Sept. 29, the brewery will hold its annual Anniversary Beer Rave.

To honor the loss of craft brewing champion and frequent Beer Rave attendee Danny Williams, ticket sale proceeds will benefit the Danny Williams Fund. Williams was behind the Great American Beer Festival, World Beer Cup and Craft Brewer’s Conference.

The Beer Rave will feature rare, “taproom only” draft beers from 30 different Colorado breweries, as well as 12 Brewer’s Choice Boulder Beer Company beers. In addition, Jimmy John’s will be donating subs for all guests and live music will be provided by Dylan & The Dead.

Tickets to the event are $30 and can be purchased at www.boulderbeer.com or in person at the Boulder Beer Pub. For more information contact Tess McFadden via email at tmcfadden@boulderbeer.com or by phone at 303-444-8448 ext. 29.

RESTAURANTS OPEN THEIR DOORS FOR PJS AND EGGS “BRINNER”

Eggcredible in Boulder and other restaurants across Colorado will switch up their menu a bit on Oct. 12 as part of a charity event called PJs & Eggs.

Participants are asked to show up to one of the five participating restaurants ready to eat “brinner,” breakfast at dinner time, in their pajamas. In addition to wearing PJs, attendees are asked to bring a new set to be donated. Those who are not able to attend but would like to make a donation can take their unused pajamas or a monetary donation to any of the participating restaurants before Oct. 12.

In addition to Eggcredible, restaurants participating in the event include Syrup at two Denver locations, Toast in Littleton and Breakfast on Broadway in Englewood. Each restaurant will open its doors at 5 p.m.

The Colorado Egg Producers Association organized the event to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Denver on World Egg Day. The CEP is made up of seven Colorado farms that make regular donations of eggs to food banks throughout the state in an effort to be an active member of the community.

Q’S CELEBRATES WITH WINE DINNER

As part of its Food and Wine Series, Q’s Restaurants will be holding “A Bouchaine Vineyards Wine Dinner.” The event is designed to celebrate the wine of Bouchaine Vineyards in Napa Valley.

On Oct. 4, guests can take part in a five-course meal of Q’s fall cuisine. Each course will be expertly paired with wine from the two vineyards.

In addition to presenting wine from Bouchaine Vineyards, winemaker Greg Gauthier will share wine from his own Gauthier Select Vineyards, and will be on hand to instruct guests on the different selections.

The dinner will cost $65 plus tax and gratuity. Q’s asks that those interested call 303-442-4880 for reservations.
