The Yosemite dump: 10 tons of trash cleared from park

I can’t even think of a clever opener for this one: Volunteers at Yosemite National Park removed 10 tons of trash two weeks ago.

The 20,000 pounds of garbage does include asphalt and concrete, which certainly raises the weight considerably. And this year, the eighth year that Yosemite Facelift volunteers have cleaned the park, included larger special projects as well, like rappelling to reach garbage along the Half Dome and the Tunnel View vista. Several of the special projects were geared specifically toward cleaning up after climbers and other outdoors enthusiasts.

But still. Ten tons of trash. Wow.
