Tidbites | Cook-off to benefit fire districts

On Sept. 11 from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Centro Latin Kitchen & Refreshment Palace will celebrate its passion for green chile and give competitors a chance to show off their family recipes. The outdoor chile harvest celebration will feature street food, restaurant specials and fresh-roasted chiles. Specials will include Hatch Pork Green Chile, bags of roasted Hatch chiles and corn on the cob slathered with Hatch green chile, butter and manchego.

Tidbites | Alfalfa's revives pancake breakfast

The event will be held in the Alfalfa's parking lot on Saturday, July 30, from 7 to 10 a.m. Admission is $7 for adults and $3 for kids 10 and under. The event features live music and all-you-can-eat pancakes, bacon, sausage, eggs, coffee, juice and other breakfast treats, including vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options.

Tidbites | Los Oasis opens in Boulder

Los Oasis Latin Grill & Cerveceria opened on June 7 in the former Boulder Draft House location, at 2027 13th St. Owner George Hanna says that after closing the Oasis Brewery in 2001, he became interested in pairing dishes typically served in southern Mexico with lagers that didn’t overpower the food.
