'Hunger Games': Gary Ross Will Not Direct Sequel 'Catching Fire'

Director Gary Ross addressed recent reports speculating about whether he would return at the helm for the second movie in the Hunger Games franchise. "Despite recent speculation in the media, and after difficult but sincere consideration, I have decided not to direct Catching Fire," Ross said in a statement.

Miss Universe organization will change policy to allow transgender contestants

GLAAD and the Miss Universe Organization announced Tuesday that the pageant will change its overall policy to allow transgender women to compete. The larger change comes after the Miss Universe Organization, which is owned by Donald Trump, said it would allow Miss Canada Universe contestant, Jenna Talackova, to participate, “provided she meets the legal gender recognition requirements of Canada, and the standards established by other international competitions.” Talackova had threatened legal action against the organization when they initially denied her entry.

Damon Albarn: Blur, Gorillaz Are Over

Damon Albarn has told The Guardian that Blur's Olympics-closing concert at London's Hyde Park may be the band's final gig. When asked whether the quartet has plans to play shows after that gig, Albarn said "No, not really," and went on to say "I hope that's the truth and that that's how we end it." The singer also said that "Under the Westway," a new stand-alone single recorded by the band in one take, is very likely the final studio recording by the band. "I don't really see any more recordings after this," says Albarn. "So it's nice to have finally done one song where we did it properly."
