Naropa hosts Haiti benefit concert

Naropa University, the Colorado Musicians Consortium and Boulder Weekly will host a benefit concert to provide aid and assistance to Haiti in the wake of its devastating earthquake. The concert, which will take place on March 13 at 7 p.m. at Naropa Universitys Nalanda Events Center at 6287 Arapahoe Ave.

CU seeks re-accreditation

A team from the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools was visiting the University of Colorado at Boulder this week to conduct an evaluation that is done every 10 years to ensure the university’s continued accreditation.

BPD reaches milestone

With the recent promotion of a fifth female sergeant, the Boulder Police Department has announced that it has more commissioned female supervisors than at any time in its history. The milestone was reached when Officer Kristi Peterson was promoted to the position of sergeant.

Trail closures

The Boulder Ranger District of the Arapaho & Roosevelt National Forests implemented its annual area closures at Security Risk, Eagle Rock, Blob Rock and Bitty Buttress in Boulder Canyon on Feb. 1. The areas are located along State Highway 119, approximately 1.5 miles east of Boulder Falls. Happy Hour, Bihedral and Riviera will remain open, as long as visitors stay out of the closed areas.

Affordable housing community opens in north Boulder

Boulder Housing Partners (BHP) recently opened its newest affordable housing community, Broadway West. Located at 3120 Broadway, just north of Elder Avenue, the complex contributes to Boulder’s goal of having 10 percent of its housing inventory available at affordable rents or prices.
