There are many reasons why the Pittsburgh Steelers lost Super Bowl XLV, but frankly, you can't win on the big stage with three turnovers. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger threw two interceptions that led to touchdowns, and with the game on the line in the dwindling moments of the fourth quarter, the Steelers' offense couldn't organize itself properly to even get a first down.
Still one of the biggest mistakes of the night was made by national anthem singer Christina Aguilera, who flubbed the words of the national anthem. Aguilera, looking like a creepy, plastic, life-size Christina Aguilera doll, sang, "What so proudly we watched at the twilight's last gleaming" instead of "o'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming." Oops.
Aguilera just can't seem to do anything right these days. She canceled her tour last summer after low ticket sales, her latest album Bionic got lukewarm reviews at best, and her disastrous musical with Cher Burlesque was almost universally trashed. Compare that to the less-talented Britney Spears, whose next album is actually getting preliminary props from critics. Aguilera can sing, sure, but girl, next time use a teleprompter.
