Rose Hill Drive to host listening party at Downer tonight for new album

Posted By: David Accomazzo

UPDATE: The new album has a release date of July 12.

Boulder rock quartet Rose Hill Drive is releasing a new album titled Americana, and Boulder fans can listen to the new album tonight at the Sundown Saloon at 1136 Pearl St. at 8:30 p.m.

It's been almost three years since RHD's previous album, Moon is the New Earth. It's a great album, but the band was unhappy with its musical direction and went on a long hiatus from 2009 to June 2010. The band, singer/bassist Jacob Sproul, guitarist Daniel Sproul and drummer Nate Barnes, added a new member, bassist Jimmy Stofer, and has been recording an album ever since.

Rose Hill Drive is releasing the album on its own label, Slow and Shirley Records. The band will play the Bluebird Theater in Denver on June 17. Tickets are $10 in advance or $17 the day of the show.

The band will give away five pairs of tickets to the Bluebird show at tonight's listening party in Boulder.
