Tonight, a collection of students from Naropa University
will be gathering for “One Love: Songs for Children,” a fundraiser benefiting
the construction of two vocational schools in Sudan and Nicaragua for orphaned
street children.

The event will feature live music, dance, and poetry
inspired by the music of Bob Marley. Universal Love, the Boulder-based
reggae/afro-beat band, is the headlining act.

“We chose Bob Marley because of his universal message of peace, love, and
unity,” event organizer Johannah Reimer says. “His message is one that the
entire world can resonate with and what we are striving for through local
non-profits America’s Association for the Care of Children and Yoga World
Reach.”

According to Reimer, construction on the school in Sudan has already begun and
the school in Jalapa, Nicaragua will begin construction in January. The event
takes place at the Wesley Chapel (1290 Folsom) tonight at 7 p.m. with a silent
auction and reception to follow. Organizers are asking attendees for donations
in the range of $5 to $20 at the door.
