FX is beefing up its commitment to late-night. The cable network said
Wednesday that it has ordered six episodes of a new late-night series
from executive producer Chris Rock.
The untitled project, starring political comic W. Kamau Bell,
will premiere in the summer as a weekly half-hour series that will look
at politics, pop culture, race, religion, media and sex.
It comes on the heels of the network’s order of a similar six-episode order for a Russell Brand-fronted late-night series debuting in the spring as cable networks — TBS with Conan O’Brien and Bravo with Andy Cohen — turn more and more attention to late-night.
