Monday night’s officiating by replacement NFL referees was quite possibly the worst of a bad three weeks. The refs’ last-minute waffling and ultimately poor call handed the game to the Seattle Seahawks.
Today brings more bad news for the NFL, already in the doghouse with many fans for using replacement refs in the first place. The Lingerie Football League — which you might say is a few tiers below the NFL, talent- and respect-wise — has announced that it fired several refs who are currently working in the NFL.
That’s right: The NFL is currently employing referees who couldn’t cut it in the LFL. And they weren’t just subpar. They were bad enough to be fired.
