After nine years, NBC’s The Office is coming to a close in May 2013, the network announced today.

Greg Daniels, the show’s executive producer, said the show was finishing its run not for financial reasons but because the show’s story arcs are complete. Daniels said there “all the questions” would be answered in the final season, including a look at the documentary filmmakers who have been filming the characters throughout the show.

The Farm, the spin-off of The Office starring Rainn Wilson’s Dwight Schrute character at home, will continue as planned, Daniels said.
