New restaurant Minglewood opens

A new locally owned restaurant called Minglewood opened at 1606 Conestoga St. in Boulder last month.

The restaurant offers homemade salads, sandwiches, soups and lunch entrees during the day, and delivers to local businesses from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. The restaurant also offers a full bar with “Specialty Old Time American Cocktails” and Cuban cocktails, in addition to its “Minglewood only” imported spirits.

In the afternoon, the restaurant offers a full menu with a diverse range of ethnic specialties, including appetizers, group platter options and desserts made by the Minglewood pastry chef.

Minglewood is open Monday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturdays from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. For more information, visit newminglewood.com or call 303-442- 0585.

Spiked coffee drinks, cocktails

As part of Baker St. Pub & Grill’s new “Café Holmes” beverage menu, spiked coffee drinks are being offered to customers as an alternative to a pint of beer.

The drinks will be offered through February, and will include drinks with names such as “The Snuggler,” “Mounds” and “Nutty Detective.” The drinks are priced from $4.75 to $5.75.

Also available through February, the pub is offering “Holmes for the Holidays” cocktails, including the “Kraken Cookie Crumble,” made with spiced rum and gingerbread syrup, the “Shiner Holiday Cheer” beer, a “Fruitcake Martini” and a “Piece of Cake” vodka shooter topped with whipped cream.

Project Angel Heart tastes success

More than 800 attendees, community leaders and food enthusiasts came together on Nov. 3 at the Hyatt Regency Convention Center to support Project Angel Heart’s A Taste for Life event, raising awareness about the organization’s mission of delivering nutritious meals to improve quality of life for those coping with life-threatening illness.

The event was its most successful to date, and raised more than $113,000 for the organization.

All of the proceeds will go toward providing Project Angel Heart’s clients with more than 15,000 meals this year.

Noodles and free sandwiches

In the midst of the holiday shopping season, Noodles & Company is offering incentives for people who buy gift cards.

When customers buy $25 worth of gift cards, they will get a free sandwich duo for themselves.
