COLORADO CELLARS RELEASES EXTENSIVE VINTAGE COLLECTION

Supporters and fans of local Colorado wines rejoiced last week when Colorado Cellars Winery announced it is releasing every vintage of their wines in stock for sale to the public.

The vintages for sale begin in 1978 and come all the way up to 2009, and varietals include cabernet sauvignon, merlot and port wine. Colorado Cellars, which is the state’s first establishment to make and sell wine from Colorado grapes, fruit and honey, has decanted, rebottled and re-corked the wines to ensure quality.

It is for sure an opportunity to taste some rare wines from rare vintages. The wines will be sold on the Colorado Cellars website, coloradocellars. com, and in some retail stores throughout the state.

AN AFTERNOON OF COOKING AND EATING HEALTHY

Stop over at the Isabelle Farm in Lafayette on Saturday, Dec. 5 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. and join Shari Leidich, founder of Two Moms in the Raw, for an afternoon of cooking, eating and stories.

Leidich founded Two Moms in the Raw after drastically changing her diet when she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2004 and found that a simple, clean and healthful diet helped control her symptoms. The company sells healthy snacks and now Leidich is publishing a cookbook.

The event at the farm will include a cooking demonstration, cookbook signing, product samples, tastings and giveaways, goodie bags for the early birds and a question and answer session with Leidich.

CELEBRATE ASHER’S ANNIVERSARY

Celebrate with the fine folks at Asher Brewing Company at their sixth anniversary party on Dec. 5 from 2 p.m. to midnight at their brewery in Gunbarrel.

The festivities will include a performance from Lady and the Gentlemen, and Rollin’ Bones will be on the grounds to serve their barbecue all night. Best of all, $30 gets you as many Asher Ales as you can “responsibly consume” during the 10-hour party.

Buy your tickets ahead of time at asherbrewing.com, or stop by their tasting room on Nautilus Drive.
