THE BLACK CAN BEER

North Boulder’s Upslope Brewing Company has released its black-canned Foreign Style Stout, a limited release available in several local liquor stores.

The 6.9 percent ABV stout, previously distributed to celebrate Upslope’s one-year anniversary, is described as “exceptionally smooth” with a roast flavor.

The Foreign Style Stout will be available through March. It’s also on tap at the Upslope taproom at 1501 Lee Hill Road, along with a Chili Pale Ale and Session Extra Pale Ale. Visit www.upslopebrewing.com to learn more.

HAPPY HOUR AT THE HARE

Bramble & Hare, the companion restaurant to next-door neighbor Black Cat Farm Table Bistro, has announced a daily happy hour with small plates, beer, wine and cocktails for $5.

The happy hour, running from 4 to 5:30 p.m., includes ricotta with pear butter and walnuts, a shaved apple salad, farmhouse soup and other farm-to-table specialties. Bramble & Hare’s happy hour beers are Fort Collins Brewery’s 1900 Amber Lager and Racer 5 IPA from California’s Bear Republic Brewing Company.

Some of the small plates on the happy hour menu are also available a la carte on the dinner menu, some for $5 and some for more. Bramble & Hare will also have a “daily community crossword puzzle” on an easel during happy hour. For more information, visit www.brambleandhare.com.

ONE MORE SUN

Under the Sun, Mountain Sun’s newest restaurant, is now open for “preview” hours, according to a sign on its door, serving dinner starting at 5 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. The restaurant’s Facebook page says it closes at 10 p.m.

The “eatery and taphouse,” located at Broadway and Table Mesa, is still developing its menu, centered around a wood-fired oven.

Mountain Sun Pubs hasn’t announced when the restaurant will be fully open. See more at the Under the Sun Facebook page.
