The 24th annual Lights of December Parade will hit downtown
Boulder this Saturday, Dec. 3.
This year, the parade will feature more than 50 local
entries, including both the Fairview and Boulder High School marching bands and
the Swing Dancing Elves.
“There is no better way to celebrate small businesses and
our city’s community spirit than our annual Lights of December Parade,” said
Sean Maher, executive director of Downtown Boulder, Inc. “The parade showcases community groups
and local businesses who come together to ring in the holiday season in the
heart of our vibrant downtown district.”
The parade begins at 6 p.m. at 15th and Walnut streets and
will move west to 11th Street. Next it will march north to Spruce Street, and
then east to end at Spruce and 15th streets. There are two reviewing stands,
one located at 14th and Walnut streets and the other at 11th and Pearl
streets. Attendees are encouraged
to park for free in one of the five City of Boulder parking structures and to
pay special attention to event ‘No
Parking’ signs along and adjacent to the parade route.
Prior to the Lights of December Parade, Santa will be
greeting visitors at the Visitor Information Center on 13th and Pearl Street
from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. as part of Downtown Boulder’s St. Nick on the Bricks.
Downtown Boulder’s Lights of December Parade and St. Nick on
the Bricks are free events and open to the public.
