Eliot Spitzer: What are the Koch brothers talking about?

Outrage was the general reaction last week when David Siegel, a prominent Republican, sent a letter to his employees telling them some of them would lose their jobs if President Barack Obama was re-elected. The letter was widely decried as sleazy, underhanded, false and unfair.

It should be no surprise, then, that the Koch brothers decided to follow suit. All 45,000 employees of paper company Georgia Pacific received a letter from David and Charles Koch railing against Obama and openly encouraging employees to vote for Republican challenger Mitt Romney.

The act itself is ridiculous, but the Koch brothers’ arguments are even worse. Allusions abound to “unprecedented regulatory burdens” and Obama “excessively hindering free trade” without a single example of the Obama administration doing those things.
