Scientists have finally witnessed the movements of the molecules that form memories, a breakthough that may lead to better understanding of how memories are made.
Exactly how did they do that?
at Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Yeshiva University developed a
mouse model in which they fluorescently tagged all molecules of
messenger RNA (mRNA) [an essential structural protein in brain neurons] that code for beta-actin protein (proteins involved
in cell structure and integrity). “
Video of that is below. It was made by stimulating neurons in the brains of mice.
Less scientifically important but equally interesting is that the video is really pretty, especially as far as biological processes typically go.
