President Barack Obama’s six-state TV campaign is running at a
strength of about $700,000 so far, according to a source monitoring the
2012 air war.

Up to this point, the Obama campaign has reserved $197,935 in airtime
in Ohio, $500,770 in Florida, $52,180 in Iowa, $126,555 in Nevada,
$27,780 in Colorado and $182,390 in Virginia. Those funds cover flights
from today through April 12, and could increase in size.

Team Obama is the only entity subject to federal hard-money

campaigns to date. GOP super PACs have put real money into the national
air war, but even Mitt Romney’s well-funded campaign has generally
focused on advertising in one or two states at a time.
